Why do I need the test?

The level of calprotectin in your stool needs to be tested. Calprotectin is used to diagnose stomach pains and diarrhea. A high level of Calprotectin indicates an inflammation somewhere in the intestinal tract. For example, chronic inflammation in the intestine. It is important that you follow these guidelines, so we obtain correct results.

You may eat and drink as usual and take your regular medication. However, you may not use any laxatives whatsoever (includes linseed, Mikrolax, paraffin oil or castor oil) or any digestive enzymes (e.g. Pancrease, Pankreatin or Pankreon, unless otherwise agreed with your doctor) 48 hours up to the stool sample.
